About the Author
Pilar Ruiz-Lapuente is Associate Professor in Astrophysics at the University of Barcelona. She is also a member of one of the two collaborations that discovered the acceleration of the Universe, for which she shared the Gruber prize for Cosmology.

This book covers practically all topics related to dark energy, from the point of view of different authors, several of which have participated in the discovery of this new and essential component of the Universe. The theoretical chapters require mathematical background, but not more than the level of Physics students, so it is ideal for those, among them, who wish a complete and up to date introduction to this important topic. More advanced readers will find the discussion of the outstanding problems, both from the theoretical and the observational point of view, in a single volume, a very useful tool.
